Senior Citizen Party-list Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes cited the outdated list of recipients of the targeted social assistance has been a longstanding complaint of many elderly citizens in the country.

“That purge of the 4Ps list hopefully means the more efficient updating of the DSWD seniors pension list is the next priority of Secretary (Erwin) Tulfo,” he said in a statement on Saturday, July 16.

The lawmaker noted the seniors have been looking for “quality” in the department’s 4Ps list in every locality.

“Nag-hearing na kami dati (We held a hearing before) I will share with Secretary Tulfo the findings and recommendations of the 18th Congress Special Committee on Senior Citizens,” he added.

Ordanes is hoping that the DSWD would put safeguards to ensure the “integrity” of the seniors database.

The DSWD is bent to delist persons who should not be included in its conditional cash transfer program, otherwise known as 4Ps, as they are not eligible to receive ayuda.

Tulfo earlier said almost a million CCT beneficiaries will be removed from the list, but the process may take three to four weeks.

The 4Ps program has 4.4 million recipients of social assistance in its list.
