Taguig LGU distributes P3,000 to P10,000 birthday cash gifts to senior citizens
The Taguig City government has started distributing birthday cash gifts to senior citizens who celebrated their birthday in May and June on July 15.
This was according to Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano who promised to give the birthday cash gifts to seniors on time.

Under Taguig Ordinance No. 25 passed in 2017, senior citizens in the city will receive cash gifts ranging from P3,000 to P10,000 depending on their age bracket.
Cayetano said the distribution of the delayed birthday cash gifts will be done everyday even on Saturday and Sunday until it is completed.
She said the birthday cash gifts will be personally delivered by employees of the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs and Barangay Affairs Office.
Meanwhile, the cash gifts for those who are celebrating their birthdays in July are being processed, she said.
“Bagama’t naantala ang pagbibigay ng birthday cash gift nitong mga nakaraang buwan, makakaasa kayo na na-adjust na natin ang sistema. Titiyakin namin ang napapanahong pagbibigay ng regalong ito sa mga susunod na buwan (While the distribution of the birthday cash gift was delayed in the past few months, rest assured that we have already adjusted the system. We will make sure the timely distribution of the gift in the succeeding months),” said the mayor.
Last July 13, Cayetano personally visited centenarian Anacleta Pabon of Barangay North Signal and gave her a P100,000 cash gift.
All residents in Taguig who turn 100 get P100,000. They will receive P100,000 on their succeeding birthdays.
Cayetano said besides the birthday cash gift, the Taguig City government gives senior citizens free medicine for chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood and asthma, and free medical services at their homes. They also get wheelchairs, crutches and hearing aids.
