Man threatening to expose victim’s nude photos arrested in entrapment operation in Tarlac


BAMBAN, Tarlac – A 32-year old male who tried to extort money from a woman by threatening to expose her nude photos was arrested during an entrapment operation in Brgy. San Nicoloas, in this town on July 14.

Joint personnel from Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 3 (RACU 3) led by Major Evangeline M. Geminiano, Colonel Erwin O. Sanque, Provincial Director of Tarlac Police Provincial Office carried out the operation together with the personnel of 1st Provincial Mobile Force and personnel of Bamban Police.

He was arrested for Violation of Article 294 (Robbery Extortion of Revised Penal Code), Article 286 (Grave Coercion), and Article 178 (Using Fictitious Name and Concealing True Name) as amended by RA 10951 and Violation of RA 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009) all in relation to Sec. 6 of RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

According to his victim, the suspect was spreading nude photos and videos to different people including her siblings.

The suspect’s activity was reported to Tarlac Provincial Cyber Response Team which led to an entrapment operation against him.

Police said that prior to the entrapment operation, the suspect demanded money from the victim amounting to P2,000 to be sent to Smart Padala in exchange for the deletion of the victim’s nude photos and videos.

The victim did send P1,000 to Smart Padala which the suspect claimed.

The suspect is now under the custody of Bamban Police while charges are now being prepared.
