A Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted from April 19 to 29, 2022 has found that 78 percent of Filipinos were satisfied, 9 percent undecided, and 13 percent dissatisfied with the performance of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

The resulting net satisfaction rating of Duterte was +65 (percentage of satisfied minus percentage of dissatisfied), classified by SWS as “very good,” the survey results released on Wednesday, July 13 showed.

SWS said this was five points above the former president’s net satisfaction rating of “very good” +60 in December 2021.

In the April survey, SWS asked 1,440 respondents how satisfied or dissatisfied were they with the performance of Duterte as president of the Philippines.

The respondents were asked: “Are you very satisfied, somewhat satisfied, undecided if satisfied or dissatisfied, somewhat dissatisfied, very dissatisfied?”

“Compared to December 2021, gross satisfaction with President Duterte rose by three points from 75 percent, gross undecided stayed at 9 percent, and gross dissatisfaction fell by two points from 15 percent,” SWS said.

It attributed the five-point rise in the former president’s overall net satisfaction rating from December 2021 to April 2022 to the increases in all areas—Metro Manila, from +61 to +63; Balance Luzon, from +56 to +60; Visayas, from +45 to +55; and Mindanao, from +80 to +83.

Duterte ended his six-year presidency on June 30.
