The PCG and the Maritime Academy for Training and Education (MATE) Inc. have established a partnership to grant Coast Guard scholarships for the Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime (PBM) Strand High School of the MATE Senior High School (SHS).

A memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the scholarship program was signed by Admiral Artemio Abu, PCG Commandant, and Captain Michael Salvilla, MATE Inc. SHS Board of Director, at the PCG headquarters in Port Area, Manila on Monday, July 11.

Abu, in his speech, thanked the MATE Inc. for helping the PCG achieve its mission by educating the youth.

“Together, we will work toward improving the maritime education and instilling excellence among new blood in the maritime field,” Abu said.

The PCG will release a list of requirements and qualifications for PCG dependents who are interested to avail the scholarship program.
