Man arrested after stabbing security guard, wife in QC
Police arrested a man shortly after he stabbed a security guard and his wife with a Swiss knife on a street in Barangay North Fairview, Quezon City on Monday, July 11.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Fairview Station (PS 5) identified the suspect as Jessie Laoyon, 39, a company driver from the said barangay. He was arrested after being beaten by bystanders at the crime scene.
Senior Master Sgt. Roderick Mallanao of the PS 5, investigator on case, told Manila Bulletin that at around 10:15 a.m. on Monday, the suspect who was driving a container van, and the victims -- Micheal Ong, 32, security guard, and his wife, Iza Ong, 37 -- who were on board their motorcycle, were travelling along Atherton St. in Phase 8, Barangay North Fairview.
Laoyon’s vehicle almost hit the victims when he tried to turn left towards Commonwealth Ave.
Mallanao said the victims called the attention of the suspect by tapping the side of his vehicle twice.
Laoyon then got out of his car armed with a Swiss knife and stabbed the victims.
The security guard sustained a stab wound in his chest while his wife sustained wounds on her belly and left forearm. They were rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.
Mallanao said that the suspect was cornered and beaten by bystanders who witnessed the incident.
