Here’s how you can help local farmers and get loads of produce for only P699

Rural Rising Philippines launches box-all-you-can campaign in Glorietta

On a mission to help local farmers get what they deserve, Rural Rising Philippines, a social enterprise dedicated to harnessing the potential of the countryside and fostering rural prosperity through agri-entrepreneurship, is bringing its Box-All-You-Can campaign to AyalaMalls Glorietta in Makati.

Box-All-You-Can is a shopping game where different rescue fruits and vegetables from distressed farmers are piled in the middle of the mall. When the gates to the products are opened, shoppers can fill their boxes to the brim with all the produce they like for 10 minutes, no weight limit. The goal of this initiative is to give farmers “the price they are praying for,” and to keep them from throwing away unsold goods. Rural Rising Philippines also notes that all income from this initiative will go to the farmers.

To participate, shoppers need to pay P699 for the box. Its size is 14″x14″x8″, which is good enough to hold 15 kilos of produce. Shoppers can expect to see an assortment of goods at the event such as zucchini, watermelon, yakon, cabbages, wombok, carrots, tomatoes, bintong and orange kamote, pokopok and señorita bananas, white radish, Baguio lemons, yellow corn, Japanese cucumbers, native kalabasa, guyabano, pineapples, green ice lettuce, giant beets, and many more.

“How solid our partnership with Alagang AyalaLand, how in sync with ours their commitment to creating positive change in lives of farmers by giving them direct access to a buyers’ market,” Rural Rising Philippines said. “We just know that the message will resonate very well not only here in the pulsing heart of the country’s business but in the innermost reaches of Luzon from where these vegetables and fruits are coming from. We are so very excited for the farmer recipients, our continuing partnership with AyalaMalls/Alagang AyalaLand, and the repercussions of yet another successful Box-All-You-Can.”

The Box-All-You-Can event is happening at AyalaMalls Glorietta Activity Center, from July 16 to 17, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
