Marcos will preside over the meeting virtually as he remains under isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 on July 8.

"President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will hold his second cabinet meeting tomorrow, July 12. As he is still in mandatory isolation, PBBM will be joining and presiding over the meeting via teleconferencing," an advisory from the Office of Press Secretary (OPS) said on Monday, July 11.

During his first Cabinet meeting, various matters in the areas of economy, education, and transportation were discussed.

Although the meeting lasted for four hours, Marcos said in a post-Cabinet meeting press briefing, that they were not able to cover everything, prompting him to conduct Cabinet meetings more frequently in the coming weeks.

In the first Cabinet meeting, the President ordered his Cabinet to streamline the bureaucracy and work on transitional matters soon so they could fully focus on more pressing matters.

He also gave the Cabinet members a free hand in restructuring their departments and hiring of employees if they find the need to but told them to do it soon.

The proposal for the full resumption of face-to-face classes by November was discussed as well as the "central policy" the economic team wanted to set up.

Transportation concerns such as expanding the fuel subsidy to tricycle drivers and subsidizing free rides for students riding LRT2 were also talked about during the meeting.

No further information about the upcoming meeting was disclosed.

The President is expected to be under mandatory isolation until July 15.
