Ruffa Gutierrez set to graduate from college at 48

Thirty-five years after she joined show business, actress Ruffa Gutierrez is set to graduate from the Philippine Women's University in Manila in September.

Ruffa, 48, made the announcement on social media on July 8.

On various social media platforms, Ruffa said that she is preparing for a face-to-face graduation at the PWU where she majors in Communication Arts.

"Be like a flower, survive the rain but use it to grow. Now i’m here.

"Gearing up for my @mypwu_official face-to-face graduation rites this September. I will be a Bachelor of Arts graduate, majoring in Communication Arts. ‍ To God be the glory. "

Ruffa's close friends and netizens congratulated her for her latest achievement.

In May 2021, Ruffa announced that she's going back to school.

“You’re never too old to chase your dreams,” wrote Ruffa on Instagram. “I am both humbled and excited to share with you that I am currently enrolled in The Philippine Women’s University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Communication Arts under the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).”

Ruffa, who has two daughters with former husband Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas, is currently shooting for the controversial movie "Maid In Malacanang" where she will star as former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos. She also appears in the noontime program "It's Showtime."
