DFA prays for former Japan PM's recovery

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Friday it is praying for the early recovery of former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe after reportedly being shot at.

In a separate statement, DFA Sec. Enrique Manalo also said "it is with great shock and dismay" that he learned of Abe's supposed shooting in Nara region.

"I extend my deep sympathy and pray for his early recovery," he added.

Abe, who was rushed to the hospital after being gravely wounded, was reportedly campaigning when the incident happened.
