Bulacan police arrest suspect in young woman's slay

The suspect in the killing of industrial engineer Princess Dianne Dayor was arrested by police Thursday afternoon, about 48 hours after the victim’s decomposing body was found in a creek in Barangay Tikay, Malolos, Bulacan.

In a press conference held at Camp General Alejo Santos Thursday night, July 7, Colonel Charlie A. Cabradilla, acting Bulacan police director, identified the suspect as Darwin H. De Jesus, a resident of Barangay Tabang, Guiguinto.

The suspect was arrested at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the said barangay and is now facing robbery with homicide charges.

De Jesus, however, vehemently denied any participation in the killing of the 24-year-old victim when interviewed by members of the media.

According to the report of Malolos City Police Station, the victim’s body was discovered in a small creek at the border of Barangay Tabang and Barangay Tikay last Tuesday, July 5.

The victim's body was recognized by her family through her tattoo and belongings.

Dayor was an industrial engineer employed in one of the factories in Pulilan town. She was last seen at about 5:30 a.m. on July 2 in Barangay Tabang, supposedly on her way to work.

Upon the discovery of the victim’s remains, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro immediately ordered the Bulacan Police to organize a team to conduct a thorough investigation of the case.

The Bulacan Police assured the bereaved family of the victim that her killer will be brought to the bar of justice.
