realme 9 gets the job done

While we’ve already checked out the realme 9 Pro and the 9 Pro+, we circle back a little to the realme 9, for those who want something a little bit less flashier. (Though that Sunburst Gold is lit!)

The realme 9 gets most of the job done. It’s got a decent specs sheet while looking great externally. The 6.4-inch Super AMOLED with 1080x2400 is superb, though it only has 90Hz refresh rate, which isn’t a big deal if you’ve never had a phone with 120Hz yet. But we’ve got nothing to complain about the screen quality and we were able to enjoy some games and all our bingeing experiences with the realme 9.

Performance is what you might imagine for a mid-range phone. It’s speedy enough to launch a ton of apps and could handle some games. Mobile Legends and Wild Rift are safe bets. We weren’t able to test with other more intensive games like Call of Duty or Genshin. We imagined the realme 9 could handle it, to an extent, but it won’t be 100% smooth. But hey, Mobile Legends is what most of us need.

The rear camera hosts 108MP, 8MP, and 2MP, while the front has 16MP. The images captured were decent, well-lit with a nice touch of colors. We really didn’t expect any less, since the camera is such a crucial factor in smartphones. Though that 108MP will definitely eat up space quite fast.

The realme 9 has two RAM configurations, 6 and 8 gigs, while internal storage is either 128GB and 256GB. Nothing groundbreaking, which is quite a surprise when only a few years ago, the top of line in memory storage was 64GB. It’s quite crazy if you think about it.

Battery is set at 5000mAh, which is lovely to binge with and the 33W fast charging should get you up to speed in no time at all.

The only real complaint I got in here is that the realme 9 is 4G only. If that doesn’t matter to you, then there’s nothing to worry about. 5G is here to stay for some time anyway and coverage is still improving, so maybe there isn’t much of a rush to get a 5G phone? All up to you.

All in all, the realme 9 is a great choice if you’re looking for a realme phone. Though don’t forget to check out the realme 9 Pro and 9 Pro+, both of which are excellent in their own way. There’s also that really cool Naruto edition of realme’s GT Neo 3.
