"We expect around 300,000 to 400,000 more will be added to the 65 million plus. So our regular voters for the barangay will be around 66 million," Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said on Tuesday, July 5, during the Laging Handa briefing.

"For SK elections, we expect the number of voters to reach 23 million," he added.

Laudiangco also explained that not all of the expected 23 million are new voters.

Last month, the poll official said that the projected total number of registered voters for Barangay Elections is 66,053,357.

As for the Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, he said, the projected total number of registered voters is 23,059,227.

"These are mere projections based on historical data for purposes of planning and procurement for the BSKE," said Laudiangco.

Voter registration resumed July 4 and will end on July 23.
