DOH reports 7,398 new Covid-19 cases, 60% higher daily average cases in the past week


The Department of Health reported on Monday, July 4 a total of 7,398 new Covid-19 cases in the past week, while the seven-day average daily cases rose by 60 percent.

According to DOH's data, the average daily number of cases which is at 1,057 is 60 percent higher than cases from June 20 to July 26.

Meanwhile, the agency also recorded 19 new Covid-19 cases tagged under severe and critical cases which constitutes 0.26 percent of the new cases.

The case bulletin also showed that 497 patients with severe and critical Covid-19 infections are admitted or 8.4 percent of the total Covid-19 admissions.

On the other hand, 15.3 percent or 381 of 2,487 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds are occupied while 19.9 percent or 4,342 out of 21,791 non-ICU beds are being used.

DOH also verified 74 new deaths in the past week but none of these occurred from June 20 to July 3.

Meanwhile, 78.64 percent or 70,780,072 have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the country while 15,147,905 have received booster shots.
