Jake Zyrus on his feature story on men's magazine: 'LGBTQIA+ community, this one’s for all of you'

A few days before Pride Month ended, singer Jake Zyrus shared with fans his latest milestone: A feature story on GQ.

"Happy Pride Month, a little reminder that it’s okay to be myself. Thank you to those who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom of expression and acceptance," he wrote along with photos of him from the American international monthly men's magazine based in New York City.

He thanked GQ for allowing him to tell his story and journey as a transgender man.

"Thank you, @raymondangas for allowing me to express myself. Thank you @martindiegor for capturing the real me.

To @oli_crapaud for accommodating us! my forever love and respect to my mentor, and my god father @davidfoster. To my manager @carlcabral_ for her patience, understanding and being there for me throughout my journey. To my best friend, @cheesyfbaby for supporting me all the way, for being there for me through good and bad times. Love you & I’m always proud of you," he added. "To my Jakesters, mahal ko kayong lahat."

"To LGBTQIA+ community, this one’s for all of you. Mabuhay tayong lahat."

The article by Raymond Ang is titled "Whether It’s Charice or Jake Zyrus, I’m a Singer."

"Oprah once called the Filipino star the most talented kid in the world. And now after coming out in 2017 as a trans man, Jake Zyrus is once again attempting to find his sound," the text read.
