The first thing on the agenda of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on his first day in office was to attend mass at the San Miguel Parish Church inside the Malacañang community on Friday, July 1, 2022. He was accompanied by Vice President Sara Duterte.
The Palace also announced the nomination of career diplomate Ambassador Enrique Manalo as the next Foreign Affairs Secretary, replacing Teodoro Locsin Jr.
Marcos was also guest of honor at the 75th anniversary of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) where he extolled the Filipino people to be ready to defend the country “to the hilt” against any intrusion from foreign intruders.
Tropical depression Domeng has intensified into a tropical storm, and will spawn moderate to heavy rains in the Kalayaan Islands, as well as Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro and the rest of Palawan.
