Mayor-elect Jeannie Sandoval, the first lady mayor of Malabon City, took her oath of office on Thursday, June 30, in San Bartolome Parish hours before the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Sandoval took her oath before Senator Cynthia Villar. She is the 4th and first female mayor of the city.
She served as the city vice mayor for six years and ran for mayor in 2019 but lost to outgoing Mayor Antolin “Lenlen” Oreta.
In her inaugural speech, she vowed more support for the community and grow the local economy.
Sandoval encouraged Malobonians to unite to make the city more progressive.
“Kayo ay aking inaanyayahan na magkapit-bisig upang makamit ang inaasam na pag-ahon (Let us join hands to achieve our common goal of making Malabon grow),” she said.
