Malayan Insurance partners with GCash for pet insurance

To help pet owners gain access to affordable pet insurance, Malayan Insurance Co. Inc., together with GCash and Igloo, has launched recently Pet Insure at the Hexagon Lounge of the RCBC Plaza.

Attended by key officials of Malayan Insurance, GCash, and Igloo, the ceremonial launch highlighted the availability of a low-cost insurance policy for dogs and the importance of responsible pet ownership.
Pet Insure is a customized non-life product specifically designed to safeguard the well-being of dogs, whether purebred or aspin. It enables pet owners to fully address the needs of their fur babies, particularly during emergencies, accidents, and times of illness.

“Our partnership furthers our mutual goal of providing an insurance product that protects both the pet owners and their fur babies for medical expenses, owner’s liability and personal accident,” said Malayan Insurance senior vice president and chief sales officer Jun Cotoco Jr.

Pet Insure has a three-in-one coverage that includes medical reimbursement for veterinary care up to a maximum of P100,000; owner's liability coverage of up to a maximum of P250,000; and a personal accident cover for dog owners worth P50,000.

The convenience and security that Pet Insure affords not only lightens the costs of unforeseen bills, it also affords owners convenience and security. 

“Our goal is to provide accessible, hassle-free and affordable insurance products to Filipino households. This is just the beginning as we explore more relevant product offers with this new formed partnership,” said Malayan Insurance IMC deputy head Anthony Guanzon.

Pet Insure can be purchased for as low as P650 for a one-month cover on the GCash marketplace. They may also select a longer coverage of three months, six months, nine months or one year. Dog owners only have to complete a simple digital application form to avail of a policy.

Malayan Insurance's partner, GCash, is the top e-wallet provider in the country. Igloo is an Insurtech company that enables secure end-to-end digital insurance transactions.

GInsure is a feature on the GCash app where users can purchase various protection products. Interested pet owners simply need to click on the Pet Insure tab to make a purchase.
