In his inaugural speech, Malapitan vowed to further improve the services of the local government.

With our unity, I know that I will not only continue and match but try to surpass what Mayor Oca had done in Caloocan),”he said.

When I go down the stage, Along Malapitan's real campaign will begin — the campaign of service and concern),”he added.

Malapitan instructed Caloocan Police chief Col. Samuel Mina to present to him the city’s public enemies and to ensure that there is sufficient police presence in every community.

Samuel Mina, present to me the public enemies in the city. I also want our police to always be visible so that the people of Caloocan will feel safe),” Malapitan said.

I said during the campaign, Along is kind but don't try me on drugs. I want to make it clear, we will send the victims to our rehabilitation center while drug pushers will not be tolerated),” he added.

Mayor-elect Malapitan served the city for 15 years as barangay chairman, city councilor, and 1st District congressman.

Vice Mayor-elect Karina Teh, 1st District Representative Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan, and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod also took their oath.
