Sara Duterte to attend Marcos' inauguration


Vice President-elect Sara Duterte will attend the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr., at noon tomorrow, June 30, at the National Museum in Manila.

But while she is expected to attend the inaugural rites, it is not yet clear if she will attend the events that will follow, her spokesman Reynold Munsayac said in a viber message to reporters.

“Attendance at PBBM Inauguration - Confirmed. After Inauguration events - to be confirmed,” the lawyer said.

However, he also confirmed that Duterte will attend the inauguration dinner at the Malacañang Palace.

The Vice President-elect met with the diplomatic corps today, June 29, as arranged by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

So far, she has met with the ambassadors from Romania and France, as well as United States Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, the husband of US Vice President Kamala Harris.

A delegation from the United States was also sent to meet with the VP-elect.

Duterte already took her oath of office in her hometown of Davao City on Sunday, June 19. This was also attended by Marcos and his family.

She will temporarily hold office at the Quezon City Reception House (QCRH), which has been vacated by outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo, starting tomorrow.
