Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo will administer the oath of office to President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. as the country’s 17th President at noon on Thursday, June 30, at the National Museum in Manil

Gesmundo said the oath will be exactly what is provided for under Section 5, Article VII of the Constitution: “I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and conscientiously fulfill my duties as President of the Philippines, preserve and defend its Constitution, execute its laws, do justice to every man, and consecrate myself to the service of the Nation. So help me God.”

Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo (2)

The Filipino version of the oath: “Mataimtim kong pinanunumpaan na tutuparin ko nang buong katapatan at sigasig and aking mga tungkulin bilang Pangulo ng Pilipinas, pangangalagaan at ipagtatanggol and kanyang Konstitusyon, ipatutupad ang mga batas nito, magiging makatarungan sa bawat tao, at itatalaga ang aking sarili sa paglilingkod sa Bansa.
