In preparation for the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday, June 30, the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) had set up several checkpoints and control points around the province.
Col. Charlie A. Cabradilla, acting Bulacan police director, indicated that the checkpoints will be in place as Marcos takes his oath of office as the 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines.
The checkpoints/control points were set up in all provincial entrance and exit points.
A total of 53 police officers were deployed to the dedicated border control points in the cities of San Jose del Monte (SJDM), Meycauayan, and Obando while a border control point in San Miguel, Bulacan and Nueva Ecija is being manned by the Bulacan Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), the Highway Patrol Team, and the Law Enforcement Checkpoint (LEC) of the various police stations province-wide.
Cabradilla also said the BPPO has been conducting intelligence monitoring ahead of Marcos’ inauguration to prevent planned attacks by groups to disrupt the proceedings.
“The Bulacan PNP is constantly on guard to avoid any local threats or other criminal groups from obtaining an edge in President-elect Marcos assuming his office,” he added.
