Three killed in Negros Oriental road mishap

BACOLOD CITY - Three motorcycle riders were killed in a road accident at Sitio Daro, Barangay Nagbo-alao, Basay, Negros Oriental on Monday, June 27.

Police identified the victims as Jhay Elarcosa, Rodelio Manlangit Jr., both residents of Barangay Actin, and Marlon Tumimbang.

Based on a report from Negros Oriental police, the victims were said to be on their way home around 10:17 p.m., when the motorcycle driven by Manlangit crashed into the rear part of a 10-wheeler truck parked at the roadside.

The truck was abandoned by its driver after it encountered mechanical problem, according to the police.

The victims suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. The truck driver was still unidentified, police said.
