P62-M fully grown marijuana plants destroyed in Kalinga


TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Fully grown marijuana plants valued at P62 million were uprooted and burned in a three-day eradication operation in Barangays Buscalan, Butbut Proper, and Loccong in Tinglayan, Kalinga.

A total of 16 marijuana plantations -- six in Buscalan; three in Butbut Proper, and seven in Loccong -- with an area of 25,950-square meters planted with 310,000 fully grown marijuana plants with a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P62 million were discovered.

The marijuana eradication campaign dubbed “Oplan: Tambur” of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office was conducted in coordination with the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Kalinga from June 24 to 26.

Police Col. Peter Tagtag Jr., Kalinga police chief, commended the operatives for a job well done and their collaborative efforts with the community that led to the successful marijuana eradication in Tinglayan.
