P100-M shabu seized in Central Visayas buy-busts


CEBU CITY – Suspected shabu worth over P100 million were seized in a series of police buy-bust operations Saturday, June 25, in Central Visayas.

In Lapu-Lapu City, two persons were caught with 15 kilos of shabu with an estimated value of P102 million. Eric Felisilda, 45, and Niel James Valesquiña were arrested by operatives of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit in the public market of Barangay Poblacion.

In Bacong, Negros Oriental, a 42-year-man, Crisanto Ang Sayre, yielded packs of shabu worth P1.3 million.

In Talisay City, Cebu, two high-value personalities, John Maverick Gabisay and May Faith Bacus Vinculado, had 150 grams of shabu worth P1,020,000.

In Barangay Das, Toledo City, P680,000 shabu were recovered from two suspected drug pushers, John Roderick Autencio Sollano, 42, and Rutchen Baliguat Buglosa, 39.

Police Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, Central Visayas police chief, lauded the operating teams for their unrelenting efforts in the war against illegal drugs.

Vega said the recovery of large quantities of illegal drugs from high-value drug personalities could lead to a major setback for groups involved in the illegal drugs trade in Central Visayas.
