ECAP hopeful Marcos leadership sustains e-commerce momentum from Duterte administration

Among President Duterte's noted accomplishments is the bullish market in the e-commerce sector in the Philippines during his term. The Duterte Administration will conclude a P14-billion contribution by the e-commerce community in the Philippines from its 2020 revenue of P12 billion -- industry players attribute the increase primarily on the consumer behavior that was developed during pandemic where most consumers learned the value and convenience of online shopping.

The Ecommerce Association of the Philippines Inc. (ECAP) led by its President, Nani Razon of Gencys and Chairman Jhopet Fines of Topyugo together with its Directors; Vice- President of Finance Michael Cordoviz of Supcart; Vice President for Network Charlie P. Gengos of Gencys; Vice President of ICT Khategel Mark Malazarte; Vice President for Business Development Bryan Kenneth Rivera; and Vice President for International and Trade Relations, Raffy Canare, COO of Topyugo are solid in empowering the stakeholders of the digital commerce industry.

Now, E-commerce Association of the Philippines (ECAP) President, Nani Razon is optimistic that the President-elect Bong Bong Marcos will continue and support the Ecommerce sector to multiply its revenue up to the end of his term.

Chairman Jhopet Fines added that the victory of Marcos and Vice- President-elect Sarah Duterte is an indication of how powerful social media is, to which directly assumes the power of digital marketing.

ECAP is very much looking forward that the new administration will continue and will bring more opportunities and support for the digital commerce industry especially the infrastructure for information, communications and technology. ECAP Vice President for Trade Relations Raffy G. Canare also seeks the support of the private sectors particularly the local telecommunications companies to improve its services for this will ensure a competitive and thriving digital commerce industry that will surely benefit the Filipinos.

During the official visit of ECAP in Bangkok, Thailand for the Annual PROPAK Asia Event held last June 16, 2022 in Bitec, Bangkok, Thailand, the group expressed serious collaboration with the government through the Department of Trade and Industry. The group joined the executive officials of DTI exploring more opportunities both local and abroad. The recent event in Thailand gave the association a wider landscape of opportunity for the industry from products, packaging and technology which is vital in the said industry.

ECAP is a premiere exclusive, by-invitation private regulatory body for e-commerce players who sets the trend, practices and provides technology for the stakeholders. Joining them in the PROPAK Asia 2022 in Thailand are DTI Usec. Blesila Lantayona, Asec. Demphna Du-Naga, DTI Laguna Provincial Director Clarke Nebrao, DTI Export Development Executive Director Christopher Lawrence S. Arnuco and Director Jhino Ilano of Export Marketing Bureau.
