In a report from GMA News, the traffic enforcer was seen on CCTV trying to stop the motorist for beating the red light last June 18.

The driver, however, did not stop even after the traffic enforcer blocked him with his motorcycle.

The enforcer was able stop the motorist after chasing him at the corner of Quirino Avenue and San Marcelino Street.

The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) Director Dennis Viaje expressed disappointment after learning that the traffic enforcer agreed to settle the incident with P4,000 in damages to the motorcycle.

He added the traffic enforcer did not even issue a violation ticket to the motorist.

“Lagi ninyong ilalagay sa isip ninyo pera lang yan. Masipag ka lang, kikita ka pero yung pagkatao huwag mong ipagbibili (Always remember that it is just money. Work hard and you will earn an honest living. Do not sell your dignity),” Viaje told GMA news.

“Baka tanggalin ko pa yan, sa gigil ko. Kasi hindi mo na mahal pagkatao mo (Maybe I’ll have him fired because he does not respect himself),” he added.

The traffic enforcer said he pitied the motorist who hit him as he was already an elderly.
