MB Daily News Update: No more free rides on PUVs in Metro Manila

The free rides in Metro Manila in public utility jeepneys and buses have been terminated, only adding to the burden of commuters who now have to contend with higher transport fares due to the rising costs of fuel.

The country’s fight against Covid-19 rages on as the Department of Health (DOH) is set to start the rollout of booster shots for immunocompromised minors aged 12 to 17 years old. And the timing couldn’t be better after the Covid-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila was reported to have exceeded the benchmark set by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Incoming President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is setting his sights on the return of the so-called “glory days” of Philippine education when the country’s Asian neighbors looked up to Filipinos when it came to mathematics, science, and English.

A pair of bad news was received from abroad in the last 24 hours after five Filipinos were reported to have been killed in a road accident in New Zealand, and a Filipino teacher was arrested in Hawaii allegedly for child pornography.
