Vice President-elect Sara Duterte on Tuesday, June 21, named former commissioner and acting chairman of the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) Reynold Munsayac as her new spokesperson.
Munsayac is Duterte’s classmate at the San Sebastian College School of Law, and was their class valedictorian and is a practicing lawyer.
This announcement came after the appointment of Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco as the incoming Department of Tourism (DOT) secretary.
Munsayac’s new role will take effect immediately today, June 21.
“The Vice President-elect is grateful for Mayor Frasco’s help in the timely and effective communication of her messages to the Filipinos through the media. She was committed to the truthful dissemination of information, and her duty as the spokesperson was marked with intelligence and grace,” a statement from Duterte’s office said.
The incoming vice president also wished Frasco “all the best” in her new role as Tourism chief.

Duterte expressed confidence in Munsayac’s capabilities in his new appointment as her spokesperson.
“Munsayac’s professional portfolio is highlighted by his unquestionable integrity and dedication to governance and public service, and the Vice President-elect is confident that he will be able to bring this experience to his new duty,” her office said.
In 2021, Munsayac resigned as commissioner and acting chairman of PCGG to help campaign for Duterte.
He was also instrumental in helping her build the worldwide organization Tapang at Malasakit.
Munsayac was the one who filed for Duterte’s substitution for her candidacy as vice president under the Lakas-CMD in November last year.
He was the first nominee of the Act as One PH Partylist for the 2022 elections, but his partylist group lost.
