The resolution will be filed when the 19th Congress opens in July.
Frasco backed the executive order (EO) that Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia has issued to make the wearing of face masks in open areas in the province optional.
Garcia’s EO has been adopted by the Provincial Board, making the policy a local ordinance.
Frasco, son-in-law of the governor, said the province’s move to rationalize the use of face masks is one of the measures that will help the country’s economy bounce back from the ravages of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Easing up on the mask mandate corresponds to the call of times, with our general population being vaccinated, hospitalization due to Covid-19 at very low levels, and our economy being in dire need of resuscitation. This can only happen if we rationalize the mandates that convey our openness to move forward like other recovering economies have done post-pandemic such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Thailand,” Frasco said in a statement.
