Taytay, Palawan Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo, chairman of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Office on Stewardship, encouraged the faithful to start attending physical masses when able so as not to get used to the “virtual” presence of God.

In his message for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ on Sunday, June 19, Pabillo cited the importance of the real presence and of receiving physically the Body and Blood of Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
“Let us not be content with the virtual presence of God. Although we are able to pray, listen to the Word of God, and receive spiritual communion, still, we are not able to receive the real presence of Jesus. Jesus wants His real presence within us,” the Church leader said over Radio Veritas.
Pabillo urged the faithful not to get used to the virtual presence of God with the availability of online masses for the last two years because of the pandemic. He encouraged Roman Catholics to visit Jesus physically in the Tabernacle and to spend time with Him at the church.
“Jesus shared with us everything through His Body and Blood that gave us life. Let us make this life God-centered,” he said.
Pabillo also prayed that the health protocols against Covid-19 will continue to allow mass goers to attend mass physically for them to be able to receive the Body and Blood of Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
