
Former child star Bugoy Cariño talked about his journey to fatherhood at a young age, during an interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila recently.

There, Bugoy noted how his life drastically changed since becoming a father.
In fact, he revealed his plan to initially abort their baby.
"Una po talaga, ang desisyon namin is ipalaglag na lang 'yung baby. 'Okay,' sabi ko, kasi parang bata pa po ako nu'n e. 'Di ko po alam na parang buhay pala yung mawawala pag pinaglaglag mo or something... Sabi ko sa sarili ko, 'O, sige, para lang mabalik 'yung career ko... Sabi ko, 'Sige, 'ipalaglag na lang,'" he shared.
But it didn't happen.

According to him, after a week of pondering, he realized the consequences of abortion.
"Mga one week po nakapag-isip-isip ako, kasi nagsi-search po ako sa cellphone kung ano ba mangyayari kapag ipalaglag... Kung buhay ba talaga siya sa loob ng tiyan na ganu'n pa lang kalaki... Sinearch ko po 'yun... Sabi ko, 'Kapag pinalaglag ko pala 'to, parang ito 'yung isa sa pinaka malaking kasalanan na magagawa ko sa buhay ko.'"
So Bugoy decided to keep the baby. "Itutuloy ko na to. Wala ng atrasan."
And the actor-dancer could still remember what his father told him upon hearing his initial plan.
"Bunso, pag yan pinalaglag mo yang bata, wag mo na akong tawaging tatay. Pag pinalaglag mo yan, hindi ka tunay na lalaki. Wala kang b*yag. Kalimutan mo na tatay mo ako," Bugoy recalled.
