There are a lot of household names from smartphones. But sometimes, a less familiar name shows up, helfting with them a bag full of surprises. And this is exactly what we got when the Wiko T50 showed up at our doorsteps. 

Wiko isn’t new. We have a much older Wiko phone, called the Highway Pure, which was the thinnest 4G phone at the time of its release. It’s somewhere within the ever-growing labyrinthine circle of the MB TechLab (we’ll find it, someday).

The Wiko T50 is a 6.6-inch phone with 2040x1080 resolution. It’s powered by a MediaTek G85, which makes it powerful enough to play some of the more popular mobile games out there. From our test, we managed to play Genshin Impact no problem at all. Though limits were pushed and there were a few expected hiccups. Overall the phone delivered to our satisfaction. RAM comes with two configurations, at 4GB and 6GB. And internal memory is set at 128GB, which, I think, is plenty.

Wiko boasts the T50’s triple camera, 64MP+8MP+2MP. The front has a 16MP camera. T50 could capture impressive picture and video quality, with rich colors and bright to look at. This doesn’t surprise us, since many phone makers are focused on making their cameras better as the main selling point. And you’ve got to admit, cameras are the main selling point, especially in this day and age where every person who owns a smartphone could generate content to be uploaded to the internet. 

Battery life comes in at 4000mAh, which is more than enough to get you through the day. The fingerprint sensor is located at the side, which I’m quite fond of personally. Because I find it easier to unlock the phone using my index finger while holding the phone, than extending my thumb on the screen. 

Overall, the Wiko T50 is a great phone to check out. It’s got a decent specs sheet and an impressive camera. Not only that, the Wiko name isn’t that common yet, you could hold on to something different for a change.
