The Church leader said the knee problem of the Pontiff has resulted in the cancellation of his recent engagements.

“Let us pray for Pope Francis, especially during this time. Because of his knee that has been causing a lot of pain and difficulty, he postponed some of his activities,” said Archbishop Brown over Radio Veritas.

The Vatican earlier postponed Pope Francis’ Apostolic trip to South Sudan and Congo on July 2 to 7 following the advice of his doctors.

The Holy See Press Office likewise said that Pope Francis will have to skip the Corpus Christi Mass and Procession because of his condition. The Roman Catholic Church is set to observe the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) on Sunday, June 19.

His Holiness used to lead the Corpus Christi Mass and Procession at the Basilica of Saint John Lateran followed by a procession to the Basilica of St. Mary Major.
