In “Otras Realidades (Other Realities),” Señor Javier Galvan, former Director of the Instituto Cervantes, presents works at the intersection of Figuration and Abstraction. Through an exhibit that features Galvan's paintings and photographic works, the artist brings together the possibilities of art in reference to its development as a medium of communication and expression. These works were also produced under the mentorship of Betsy Westendorp.

Otras Realidades” runs until June 20.


ONGOING: '2022 Tela Pilipinas'

WHERE: Gateway Mall, Cubao, Quezon City

On June 12, the “2022 Tela Pilipinas” exhibit of DOST-PTRI was opened at the Gateway Mall Activity Area to publicly showcase the developments in natural textile fiber-based yarns and products. Displayed in the exhibit are Pinoy-made outfits made using DOST-PTRI’s yarns, fabrics, and technologies as outputs of the institute’s research and development programs. This exhibit demonstrates the applicability and huge potential of the Philippine Tropical Fabrics as materials to dress the Filipinos.

The “2022 Tela Pilipinas” exhibit is open for public viewing until June 17.


UPCOMING: ‘Perjalanan’

WHERE: Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, Roxas Blvd, Pasay City

“Perjalanan” by Yas Doctor and Anton Villaruel will feature a collection of works informed by their two-month artist residency in Chetak 12 Studio in Kuala Lumpur last 2019, as well as their experiences during the pandemic. The exhibition will be open for viewing at the CCP Pasilyo Vicente Manansala (2F Hallway) beginning June 23.
