Vis-Min businesses eye robust economic recovery

ILOILO CITY -- Homegrown businesses in the Visayas and Mindanao are eyeing for a robust economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

“To be able to discover, we have to be passionate, we have to be resilient and we have to believe that whatever we will get into will happen,” said Felix ‘Trix’ Gorriceta, the newly-installed president of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO Philippines South).

“As entrepreneurs, we can only go so far alone. EO brings us together with like-minded leaders. We make connections with one another. We thrive together, we succeed together. Together we discover and unearth the hidden gems that will shine during these times of the new normal,” added Gorriceta during a recent turnover ceremony.

As an Ilonggo, Gorriceta chose Iloilo City to be the host for the first face-to-face meeting of EO Philippines South to showcase the good practices of both the business and private sectors during the pandemic period.

Alliance Group CEO Kevin Tan also told EO Philippines that the old airport site in Iloilo City, which has been turned into Iloilo Business Park, has been the most successful township project outside of Luzon for its subsidiary Megaworld Corp.

“Our local government has launched various programs and initiatives to help our business sector bounce back,” shared Mayor Jerry Treñas.

The city government offered training sessions and other assistance to the micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) to boost the potential of their products and services to the market.
