Food products, some are new innovations of entrepreneurs including those in the micro, small and medium enterprises from various parts of Rizal Province, are featured in the “Pistahang Rizalenyo 5” (Festival of the Rizal residents 5) which are ongoing on the second floor of the New Wing of Robinson’s Place-Antipolo until June 15.

Antipolo City tourism officer Mar Bacani said the trade event at Robinson’s Place showcases the best products of the Rizal Province’s small businesses which are of high quality and export ready food items, clothes and accessories, organic food products, shoes and bags, and other new items.

At Waltermart-Antipolo, most locally made food and nonfood products are also attracting shoppers coming from various parts of the city.

The twin trade fairs are a project of local groups such as SARAP Inc. and Tindahang Rizalenyo, in coordination with the Antipolo Culture Arts and Tourism Promotions Office, the Department of Trade and Industry-Rizal, and the management of the mall which are hosting the events.

Bacani said the city government, through the office of Mayor Andrea Bautista Ynares, has been supporting the initiatives of the city’s small business groups in promoting world class but locally made products.

The trade fairs are among the tourism-related-events that Antipolo City is showcasing during this pilgrimage season, the highlight of which is the annual devotion to the city’s patroness, the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Nuestra Senora Dela Paz Y Buenviaje), whose 17th century old image is enshrined at the Antipolo Cathedral.
