Pasay City gov’t extends deadline of real property tax payment until June 30

The Pasay City government has extended the deadline for real property tax payment until June 30.

City Treasurer Emil Tecson said tax amnesty for delinquent tax payers was extended up to June 30 based on a city ordinance approved on March 3, 2022.

Tecson said the city government will conduct in November a public auction of real properties that would fail to pay taxes despite the extended tax amnesty.

He said this is the second time the city government offered tax amnesty. The first tax amnesty was granted in December last year.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rbuiano said the city government was able to raise a total of P8-billion budget using a formula of good and honest collection of taxes.

Rubiano said last year, the city government has around P7.9-billion budget and Tecson was able to increase it to P8 billion despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

She said Tecson also reported that several employees at the City Treasurer’s Office were transferred to other division after finding that they were involved in corrupt practices, such as conniving with some erring business tax payers.
