MB Daily News Update: Bulusan erupts anew; hundreds evacuated


Bulusan Volcano erupted anew on the day the country celebrated its 124th year of independence.

President Duterte called on Filipinos to unite for the country’s glory, Vice President Leni Robredo also advocated for unity in these challenging times, while President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. vowed to work for freedom from the challenges provided by the pandemic and the divisiveness created by the recent elections.

The Office of the Ombudsman also ordered the dismissal from service of 45 Bureau of Immigration officials and employees implicated in the "Pastillas" extortion scheme at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
