PH Red Cross mobile ‘bakuna’ team administers Covid-19 vaccines in Cebu


The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) administered a total of 22,021 doses of Covid-19 vaccines in Lapu-Lapu City and Cordova town in Cebu province, fully vaccinating 5,630 individuals.

This initiative was done by PRC's Mobile Bakuna Team which is a part of the humanitarian organization's Covid-19 response across the country.

PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Senator Richard J. Gordon also encouraged Filipinos to get vaccinated and boosted.

“Ang Philippine Red Cross ay laging handa at laging nandyan, hanggang sa maging ligtas ang mga Pilipino sa banta ng Covid-19 ( The Philippine Red Cross is always ready and present until Filipinos are safe against the danger of Covid-19),” Gordon said in a statement released Friday, June 10.

Lapu-Lapu City is currently under Covid-19 alert level 1, while Cordova is on alert level 2.

Other PRC vaccination sites in Visayas are in Bohol, Capiz, Negros Occidental, Aklan, Bogo, Iloilo City, Cebu City, Cebu province, and Roxas City.

PRC has already given 1,190,940 doses of Covid-19 vaccines and boosters in the country and has fully vaccinated 372,963 persons as of June 9. (Luisa Cabato)
