Netizens rave for Puregold Channel's 'Ang Babae sa Likod ng Face Mask'

With major buzz stoking thrill and excitement over the show, netizens are wildly anticipating the June 11 premiere of the upcoming Puregold Channel series “Ang Babae sa Likod ng Face Mask”.

In the series, TV and online personality Herlene Budol takes on her first-ever starring role as the romantic interest of TV heartthrob and lead actor Joseph Marco.

The series is poised to be a certifiable hit. Even in the run-up to its official debut, “Ang Babae sa Likod ng Face Mask” has been reaping massive online support—garnering over 1.1 million views within 24 hours of its release on Facebook. Comments have been pouring in from netizens—all over the country—who are looking forward to the show’s premiere.

Malta’s friends at the café help support her through her troubles.

“Hala, nakaka excite naman” goes Shandel Bacasmo in the comments for the trailer. There are fans like Ghiavanniel Gabrieles Romero who can’t help noting the electric chemistry between Herlene Budol and Joseph Marco. “Kakakilig naman nyan!!! Bagay kayo,” Romero writes.

Joseph Marco’s own fans express their all-out support, like Assenav Siedaba, who remarks, “Kakilig kA tALaga jOseph marco!” A gaggle of Herlene Budol fans likewise declares their love for her, even raving over her looks. Leslie Vallejos Casitas Macalla comments, “For me hindi sya panget.”

To be sure, fans of both Herlene and Joseph are thrilled about the hilarious and kilig moments the show is expected to deliver.

The first episode of the series introduces us to Herlene Budol’s character, Malta. Malta has not been lucky in love because she sees herself as a “hipon”—or someone blessed with a shapely figure but a plain and homely face, something that the sweet and kind Malta is able to conceal under her facemask.

Kiray plays the antagonistic Trina, Malta’s workmate.

Malta works to support her mother, Madam Baby, played by Mickey Ferriols, a struggling vlogger and owner of a sari-sari store. A scene later shows that the bills are piling up and Malta decides to help make ends meet for her family. Meanwhile, viewers are introduced to Sieg, Joseph Marco’s character. Sieg is hurting from the end of another relationship, and is nursing a broken heart.

What will happen when Malta and Sieg first meet? How can Malta help support her mother in these difficult times? Can Sieg move past the pain of heartbreak? What’s in store for the duo will be revealed in the upcoming episodes of “Ang Babae sa Likod ng Face Mask”.
