LOOK: Marcos meets with US Deputy Secretary of State Sherman


President-elect Bongbong Marcos's much-anticipated meeting with United States (US) Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman pushed through on Thursday, June 9.

Pictures of the high-level meeting was shared on Facebook Thursday night by Executive Secretary-designate Vic Rodriguez. The location of the meeting was undisclosed.

According to Rodriguez's post, Marcos and Sherman "discussed the importance of deepening the alliance and friendship between the Philippines and the United States, as well as partnering together in order to strengthen the economy between the two countries".

"The two also shared the importance of public-private partnerships, clean energy, and the digital economy," the lawyer wrote.

Marcos and US President Joe Biden earlier spoke with each other following the former's impressive election victory last May 9.
