4 PH universities make it to QS World University Rankings 2023


The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2023 has listed four Philippine universities as among the best in the world on its University Rankings for 2023.

The top global universities in the Philippines that were included in the latest QS World University Rankings were the University of the Philippines (UP), the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), the De La Salle University (DLSU), and the University of Santo Tomas (UST).

Based on the Rankings, which identifies the best 1,400 universities in the world, UP remains the top university in the country despite falling 13 positions to rank 412th. The country’s premier institution of learning got an overall score of 27.7.

Aside from UP, the rank of Ateneo also fell to the 651-700 range from the 601-650 bracket in 2022.

DLSU and UST, on the other hand, maintained their ranks in the 801-1000 bracket.

The university's academic reputation; employer reputation; faculty to student ratio; citations per faculty; international student ratio and international faculty ratio were among the key indicators used in the QS World Rankings.

For this year, two new indicators which include international research network and employment outcomes were also featured but will be used in next year’s rankings.
