The Manila Police District (MPD) said preparations for the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. are now in full swing.

According to MPD Director Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, around 4,000 policemen are set to be deployed for the inauguration.
He said the police force plans to simulate the deployment during the Feast of the Black Nazarene to ensure public security.
"Itong magnitude kasi na ganitong international event na ito, historically, kailangan maging maayos talaga ito, kailangan maging secured and successful. I'm looking na sana mabigyan ako ng about 7,000 tapos yung iba force multiplier na iba-ibang agency na rin (With the magnitude of this international event, preparations should be really good. Historically, it needs to be secured and successful. I'm looking at deploying about 7,000 personnel and then the other force multipliers will come from the different agencies as well),” he said in a DZMM report.
He added that he will still ask for more enforcement from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The MPD also conducted several inspections at the National Museum of the Philippines where the inauguration will be held.
While there have been no reported security threats so far, the MPD assured it will continue to increase the presence of the police in the capital city.
