Martin, who was fresh from a championship with Kansas Jayhawks in the NCAA this year, worked out with the Los Angeles Lakers last Monday, (Tuesday, Manila time).

The Lakers currently have no picks in the draft but are reportedly interested in buying into the second round or signing undrafted players.

Martin, who has expressed interest in playing for Gilas numerous times in the past, joined fellow Filipino-American Ron Harper Jr. and homegrown talent Kai Sotto as aspirants with Filipino heritage in the draft.

He spent four years with the Arizona State Sun Devils before transferring to Kansas for his final year where he also won Midwest Regional MVP and played a big part in the team’s NCAA conquest.

His name, however, remains missing in recent mock drafts and was actually ranked 119th in NBA Draft Room. Harper, who was invited to Draft Combine last month, on the other hand, sits at the 73rd while the 7-foot-3 Sotto trailing not far behind at the 79th in the same mock draft.
