Car owner in Mandaluyong ramming incident snubs LTO hearing

The registered owner of the vehicle in the viral video of ramming incident near a mall in Mandaluyong City did not show up at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) despite the show cause order issued by the agency.

Lawyer Clarence Guinto, director of the LTO Law Enforcement Service, said they issued another order for Jose Antonio San Vicente to appear before the LTO on Friday, June 10. He said it is the final order for San Antonio to appear.

San Vicente was ordered to appear before the LTO office on Wednesday, June 7, to explain the incident in Mandaluyong City wherein the vehicle he owned was seen in a viral video ramming a security guard who was then manning the traffic flow.

Guinto said the Friday schedule is part of the due process for San Vicente to answer the allegations being hurled against him.

The official explained that the hearing that they would conduct is more administrative and separate from the criminal charges slapped by the PNP against the vehicle owner.

He said the penalty that may be imposed is the revocation of the driver's license.
