LOOK: Marcos hosts ASEAN envoys in courtesy call


It was another busy Monday for President-elect Bongbong Marcos after he hosted a handful of ambassadors from the country’s Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)-neighbors in a group courtesy call.

Visiting Marcos at the BBM headquarters in Mandaluyong City Monday, June 6, were Mr. Thawat Sumitmo, chargé d'affaires of Thailand; His Excellency (H.E.) Songkane Luangmuninthone, ambassador of Lao People’s Democratic Republic; H.E. Agus Widjojo, ambassador of Indonesia; H.E. Johariah Wahab, ambassador of Brunei Darussalam (Dean of ASEAN ambassadors); H.E. Phan Peuv, ambassador of Cambodia; H.E. Hoamg Huy Chun, ambassador of Vietnam; and H.E. Gerard Ho, ambassador of Singapore.

Incoming Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez was also present.

The Marcos camp has yet to reveal details about what was discussed during the group courtesy call from the ASEAN officials as of this posting.

Ambassador Marco Clemente of Italy also met with the incoming Philippine leader Monday morning in a separate courtesy call.
