A farmer from Rizal became the latest beneficiary of the Antipolo City local government's consolidated efforts to help the economy recover, especially the agricultural sector, from the adverse effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In her official Facebook page, Antipolo City Mayor Andeng Ynares posted photos of David Fallarna, a farmer from San Isidro in Barangay San Jose, as he became the latest farmer helped by the City Cooperative and Livelihood Office of Antipolo (CCLO) under the supervision of Ami Engalla.

According to Ynares, Fallarna is the vice-chairman of the Antipolo Highland Agricultural COOP and relies solely on planting and selling vegetables. However, his produce was adversely affected by the pandemic prompting him to ask for help from the CCLO.

"Dahil dito, agarang umaksyon ang CCLO at hinanapan ng paraan upang mai-connect si Kuya David sa Samahan ng Tindera ng Gulay, Prutas at Lutong Pagkain ng City Mall of Antipolo (CMA) na gawing supplier ng gulay si Tatay David (Because of this, the CCLO immediately connected David to the Samahan ng Tindera ng Gulay, Prutas at Lutong Pagkain ng City Mall of Antipolo to become their vegetable supplier)," Ynares said.

"Success! Isang araw pa lamang, closed na agad ang deal, at nakapag-deliver na rin si Tatay David ng kaniyang pananim na gulay sa CMA. Bukod dito, nagmalasakit din ang CCLO at ang CMA Market Administrator upang turuan si Tatay David sa maayos na paraan ng packaging ng kaniyang mga gulay upang masiguradong laging nakakapasa ang kalidad ng kaniyang mga produkto (Success! In just one day, the deal has been closed and David has started delivering his produce to the CMA. Aside from this, the CCLO and the CMA Market Administrator helped David in improving the packaging of his produce to ensure its quality)," she added.

Engalla urged the CMA to get their vegetable and fruit products from local farmers to help them survive the pandemic.

Aside from farmers and other agricultural workers, the Antipolo City local government also distributed livelihood packages to its indigent residents to assist them during the pandemic.

The LGU also distributed Nego Karts to its citizens adversely affected by the pandemic.
