Phivolcs reports ongoing phreatic eruption at Bulusan Volcano
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), on Sunday, June 5, notified the public that there is an ongoing phreatic eruption at Bulusan Volcano.

The phreatic eruption, according to Phivolcs, lasted for approximately 17 minutes and was recorded by seismic and infrasound monitoring by the Bulusan Volcano Network (BVN).
With this development, Phivolcs raised Bulusan Volcano’s alert level status from 0 to 1. This means that the volcano is currently in an “abnormal” condition.
“Local government units and the public are reminded that entry into the 4-kilometer radius permanent danger zone must be strictly prohibited,” it added.
