CIDG arrests ASG man tagged in kidnapping of 10 Indonesians
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested a suspected member of Abu Sayaff Group (ASG) tagged in the kidnapping of 10 Indonesians in 2016.
Nabbed was Jamar Julaid, who uses the alias Jams. He is facing various criminal charges that include violation of Sec 8 of RA 10168 or the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012..

CIDG Director Police Maj. Gen. Eliseo Cruz said Julaid is a known member of the “Daulah Islamih Financial Conduit/ASG-KFRG” operating in the southern part of the country.
"He was involved in the kidnapping of 10 Indonesian nationals who were taken away from a tugboat that was passing through the seawaters of Malaysia on March 26, 2016," said Cruz.
"Through his PNB bank account, he received an amount of $21,992.40 (P1,007,468.40) as partial payment from the P25 million ransom demand," he added.
Julaid was collared on June 2 in Barangay Seit, Poblacion, Panamao town in Sulu.
